Final Turbo Charge Campaigns Awarded

The RCA and GBR are delighted to announce the results of the third and final wave of turbo charge applications as part of the Insight = Growth programme.

The judging panel, chaired by Stephen Atkin with Rod Street and Toby Shaw, reviewed each of the applications in detail and decided upon:

  • Ffos Las (Ladies Day)
  • Chelmsford City (Gentlemen’s Day)
  • Cartmel (July Saturday)
  • York (Ebor Festival)

The successful racecourses will see their marketing teams supplemented by consultants from Two Circles, the BT Sports Industry Awards agency of the year, in a bid to grow the attendance of the respective racedays.

This final wave of applications comes after six campaigns have already been awarded, with racedays at Hamilton Park, Doncaster and Newmarket already completed in wave one and Bath, Musselburgh and Newbury to come in spring 2018.

A key element of being selected for a Turbo Charge campaign is agreement to share learnings with all racecourses in the resulting case studies. Case studies from the first three campaigns will be released imminently, whilst the subsequent racedays from waves two and three will follow.

Chairman of the judging panel Stephen Atkin commented “It has been a pleasure to review each application throughout the Turbo Charge process and it is heartening to see so many of the learnings of Insight = Growth being activated by racecourses. We are seeing some positive trends in customer purchase behaviour which can only help us grow attendances overall in the years ahead.
