RCA Statement on February Attendances

The RCA welcomes the important correction published by the Racing Post regarding average attendance per fixture in January and February 2023 where it was claimed figures had decreased to the lowest levels in over 20 years.

The accurate data shows average attendance per fixture for both January and February 2023 has increased from 2022 and is on track to be the highest it’s been since 2015.

As racecourses work hard to welcome racegoers in difficult economic conditions, we are pleased their efforts are being realised and the Great British public’s appetite for a day at the races remains strong.
