Showcase & Awards 2019 Finalists Revealed
Musselburgh Racecourse lead the way into the tenth RCA Showcase & Awards with four nominations. Following a day of intense deliberation by the six-strong expert panel of judges, Musselburgh were made Finalists in the Best Campaign, Events, Owners’ Experience and Spotlight categories.
Seen as the Oscars amongst British Racecourses, the Showcase & Awards in partnership with Moët Hennessy, Racing Post and Great British Racing celebrate excellence and innovation during the past 12 months. It was a record year in terms of submissions, with 88 being put forward for consideration.
2019 has also been a fantastic year for Beverley, Goodwood, Pontefract and York with each racecourse being made Finalist in three categories, whilst the Jockey Club’s central teams received a combined four nominations across the various arms of the business.
Reigning Champions Hamilton Park have been every bit as hungry for success since winning Showcase’s most prestigious accolade in 2018 and were rewarded with two Finalist nominations from the judges, including in the Operational Excellence category for the business-transformation project to introduce a new hotel to the Hamilton Park brand.
A new category for 2019, Diversity & Inclusion was introduced to champion racecourse efforts in this vital area. The inaugural Finalists in this category are Beverley, Goodwood, Jockey Club North West, Nottingham, and Scottish Racing.
Paul Swain, RCA Brand & Experience Manager, commented “it was only fitting that for our tenth Showcase & Awards we received a record number of submissions of the highest quality. The judges had a tough job in choosing the Finalists and our thanks must go to them for providing such expert scrutiny.
“Our Finalists this year represent the best of British Racecourses and should all be immensely proud of the work they’ve done to enhance the customer experience and their racecourse overall. All eyes now turn to Thursday 14th November at Hamilton Park where we will find out the winners.”
