Sir Paul Fox 1925-2024

The RCA is saddened to learn of the death of former Chairman Sir Paul Fox at the age of 98.

Sir Paul was Chairman of the RCA from 1993-1997, and was also a Director of RaceTech from 1994-1998. Sir Paul was also an inaugural Director of the then newly-formed British Horseracing Board (BHB) in 1993.

Sir Paul was knighted in 1991 for services to television following an esteemed career which included the prestigious position of  controller of BBC1 and managing the channel’s transition to colour. Other significant credits to Sir Paul included the creation of BBC Sports Personality of the Year and the commission of would-be household names The Two Ronnies and Parkinson.
