The Ultimate Raceday for Children: Newbury’s Schools’ Celebration Raceday – Talk of the Course Ep 13
Securing the next generation of fans is something that all sports are striving to do, and no more so than at Newbury Racecourse with the Berkshire track’s ultimate day out for children and their families: The Schools’ Celebration Raceday.
In Talk of the Course episode 13, Paul Swain and Matt Jones are joined by Newbury Racecourse’s Marketing Director, Harry Walklin and Senior Marketing Manager, Emily Paine to explore the inaugural running of the Schools’ Celebration Raceday.
The team discuss how Newbury managed to successfully engage with 350 local schools to attract a record number of under-18s to the racecourse, and the on-course activations that separated this day from any other family raceday. We also talk about the cross-industry collaboration that took place for the raceday, and the network and resource this helped the racecourse team unlock.
Finally, Harry and Emily take on the #QuickFireFive which this episode sees us return to school as we discover their favourite school dinners, who was more likely to be a prefect and who would end up in detention.
You can find out more about Newbury Racecourse and its upcoming racedays via Newbury’s website.
