Aintree—Liverpool’s NHS Day

In recognition of the incredible efforts of the NHS and social care sector throughout the Covid-19 pandemic Aintree transformed the first day of the iconic Randox Grand National Festival into Liverpool’s NHS Day. Promoting a message of thanks, the racecourse donated 10,000 tickets to key groups across Merseyside and curated a special opening ceremony to ensure those in attendance received the prestige and recognition they deserved. The day created a feel-good factor that transcended racing and introduced thousands of new customers to the sport.

Epsom Downs—The Cazoo Derby

The 2022 Cazoo Derby was the only sporting even to be an official part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. In recognition of this teams from across the racecourse business came together to curate a series of Royal celebrations including an unforgettable guard of honour with 40 jockeys who had ridden for The Queen donning the famous silks once more, providing the sold-out crowd with an unforgettable experience and celebrating the late Queen’s love of horseracing.

Musselburgh—Superhero Day 2021

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Superman! The team at Musselburgh embraced the popularity of Marvel and DC to transform their Gold Cup raceday family fixture into a FOMO-inducing, Superhero Day. With strong branding and activation across the site the day provided an unforgettable experience for all the mini heroes in attendance, saw an increase in admission on 2019 and received overwhelmingly positive feedback. This super raceday just goes to show that some creative thinking can deliver some heroic results.

Lingfield Park—The Winter Million

Three days of racing, over £1,000,000 in prize money, the Winter Million was just that: a new flagship festival of racing at Lingfield Park. Marketed and communicated in just two and a half months, the Winter Million was able to attract high-grade jumps horses back to Lingfield Park. The racecourse also used the opportunity to trial a new Syndicate Suite experience for syndicate owners, an initiative sure to be rolled out across more racecourses.

Newmarket—Cambridgeshire County Day

Cambridgeshire County Day was a once in a lifetime celebration of Cambridgeshire’s unique contribution to the National Jubilee celebrations. The event saw 120 local businesses head to the July Course to exhibit at a busy day of racing. The raceday showcased the best of the county whilst simultaneously introducing the sport to new audiences. To add the cherry to an already loaded cake, the event was given the royal stamp of approval by the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridgeshire who attended the event.
